Joanne

Say hello to our Salon Owner / Director Joanne Lewis…

How long have you been a stylist?

Longer than I care to remember! I started in hairdressing aged 14, working for my mother in her salon as she did with her 4 sisters in her family salon back in Northern Ireland. I have been lucky enough to be in hairdressing in the eras of Punk Rock, New Romantics ’80’s big hair, Jennifer Aniston in the ’90s, right the way through to today’s styles.

Which styles or colours do you absolutely love doing/are you renowned for?

I love cutting short hair and enhancing it with colour to express my clients’ personality and give it the wow factor.

What do you love about being a hairdresser?

I love being creative and listening to my clients’ expectations so I can create a bespoke shape for them to feel confident and empowered by. I also try to make clients feel comfortable, so they know they are in the right place.

What inspired you to become a hairdresser?

My inspirations throughout the years have been Trevor Sorbie, Beverley C and Errol Douglas. In recent years I am inspired by Mark Leeson and Sam Burnet. I love watching other hairdressers and learning from them, even the younger ones. You are never too old to learn or too young to teach.

What is your ultimate ambition?

To create a beautiful space and 1-1 service to all clients in a relaxing, friendly environment so they know/feel they are in the right place.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Caring, determined and adaptable.

Tell us a fun fact about you…

I worked behind a bar in Spain for a month. Crazy fun times.
